Staying Connected: CCMAD at Local Community Events

The Compton Creek Mosquito Abatement District continues its commitment to community engagement by participating in local events that bring residents together while promoting public health and mosquito awareness.
Earlier this fall, CCMAD joined the Compton High Alumni Association’s 22nd Annual Alumni Family Reunion, where staff connected with alumni, students, and families to share information about mosquito control, disease prevention, and ways to reduce breeding sources around the home.
Most recently, the District participated in the 14th Annual Compton Walk for a Cure on October 4, 2025. This inspiring event—organized by Compton Unified School District Board Member Satra Zurita, Compton Unified School District, the Honorable Janna Zurita, and St. John’s Community Health—brought together hundreds of residents to honor cancer survivors and raise awareness about breast-cancer prevention. CCMAD hosted an educational booth, offering tips on protecting families from mosquito-borne diseases and highlighting the link between community health and environmental wellness.
Through these and other outreach activities, CCMAD reaffirms its dedication to keeping Compton residents informed, engaged, and protected.
